Acrylic Based Pavement Sealer A pavement sealer made from 100% Acrylic Polymers that is designed to seal, protect, and beautify asphalt pavement surfaces.
Alligatored Referes to an area of pavement that is broken up resembling an alligator's back. Typically a result of moisture damage to base materials, or too thin of a blacktop surface layer.
Asphalt Tar-like residue that is a by-product of the oil refining process.
Asphalt Based Pavement Sealer A pavement sealer consisting of asphalt water, emulsifiers, and fillers designed to protect and beautify asphalt pavement.
Asphalt Pavement Raw asphalt is heated to over 300 degrees fahreheit and combined with rock to produce hotmix asphalt paving mix. The hot mix is then laid over a stone base and compacted to produce asphalt pavement.
Blacktop Another name for asphalt pavement. Refers to the black color of asphalt pavement.
Cement A mixture of limestone and clay that is used as an ingredient in making concrete.
Coal Tar A by-product of the coal burning process in the production of coke fuel for steel mills. Coal tar is a common ingredient used in the production of pavement sealer due to chemical and UV resistance properities.
Coal Tar Based Pavement Sealer A pavement sealer consisting of coal tar, water, emulsifiers, and filler designed to protect and beautify asphalt pavement. Coal tar also provides additional oil and gasoline resistance.
Crack Filler An asphalt or acrylic emulsion based product designed to fill cracks in pavement in order to prevent the intrusion of water into the base material.
Crack Patch Typically an asphalt or acrylic emulsion based product with a heavy-bodued trowel consistency designed for filling cracks up to 1 inch wide in pavement.
Emulsion Pertaining to a water based product. A pavement sealer containing water. A product that cleans up with soap and water.
E-Z Stir Pavement Sealer A ready to apply pavement sealer containing sand and special suspension agents that prevent sealer from setting in the pail.
Filler and Sealer A pavement sealer containing sand for added filling characteristics (hair line cracks and pores of pavement).
Pothole Patch A mixture of petroleum based resin and small stone designed for filling potholes in pavement up to 3 inched deep.
Squeeggee Aplicator A rubber blade with a long handle designed for spreading driveway sealer.
Sealcoat Term used to describe the process of applying driveway sealer.
